Transmission mount
The transmission mount holds the transmission securely to a support that is either welded or bolted to the chassis. It features a rubber bushing attached to a bracket, making it strong enough to hold the transmission while also absorbing vibrations. Additionally, it carries the static and dynamic loads of the drive train and is an essential factor for vibration isolation from low to high frequencies. Transmission mounts are typically installed at the connection of the motor and the transmission. Exposed to the high static load of the drive train, they need to provide high durability.
At Premier Seals, the rubber compound between the metal components is pre-stressed to the engine’s weight and transmission. This enables the transmission mounts to reduce vibrations that seep into the vehicle. Our Mount has superior damping capability making them the customer’s top choice where comfort is paramount. WHAT ARE CENTER SUPPORT BEARINGS?
A center support bearing is an NVH isolating and damping component for the power train. It carries the load of the driveshaft and accommodates axial and radial deflection that takes place when a starts-up and while braking. An effective solution to isolate and damp the noise and vibration that is transferred to the vehicle’s structure by the tumbling of the drive shaft. The component includes a rubber compound that is developed for acoustic isolation. This rubber compound is resistant to high temperatures and is able to withstand continuous rotational forces.
